Huge interest in Decos meteorite on Architecture Day

Huge interest in Decos meteoriteIn the context of National Architecture Day, the most eye-catching building on the Noordwijk Space Business Park was open for everyone to admire last Saturday. The new head office of the IT organization Decos Technology Group opened its doors to the public, who arrived in large numbers. More than 300 people were given a tour of the Decos meteorite. As well as the unique architectural design, the paperless concept also appealed to them enormously.

From all over the Bulb Region and far beyond, hundreds of people came to the Noordwijk Space Business Park to satisfy their curiosity. People even stood in line to take a look inside the much-discussed new head office of the Decos Technology Group, which is in the shape of a fallen meteorite. The architect from Inbo Saxon Duckworth and interior architect Ellis Kamerling explained the unique design and Decos employees revealed how they work in a paperless way in the flexible workstations in the open-plan offices.
The futuristic premises is designed around the New Way of Working: the sloping walls are possible as the company is completely paperless, meaning that no cabinets or trash cans are required. In addition, the wide-open spaces and glass walls make the workplace highly transparent. “The most important thing is for our office to be an inspiring and innovative meeting place,” says Decos director Paul Veger.

Completely paperless

“How is it possible for a company to be truly paperless?” was the question most frequently asked by the public, who were very enthusiastic about the concept. Working in a completely paperless way is made possible using the Decos software solutions, which aim to connect people and information. By making information transparent and accessible, collaboration becomes easier as everyone has access to the same information. For example, Decos uses its own Document Management System D5 which gives all its employees access to all the files via the internet, and the fleet management solution Decos Cartracker which shows where everyone is at any given time.
