The Decos culture is characterized by an enthusiastic team of young professionals. Decos employees are exceptionally enthusiastic and are very involved with their clients. This is partly because the management of Decos places a great deal of emphasis on empowerment: every employee has a high degree of independence and freedom, and a great sense of responsibility as a result. The Decos Technology Group also has a profit-sharing program, which means that employees can become actively involved in company policy by buying shares.

Decos employees also take part in many joint activities, initiated both by the company and by themselves. For example, every year Decos organizes a weekend away (both for the team in the Netherlands and the team in India), regular social gatherings are held and Decos can be found at many active events. Employees also organize many activities themselves, from participation in the Dam to Dam walk to a tennis tournament, a walk across the mud flats or just a sociable evening playing games. All these things combine to create a great sense of team spirit at Decos and all the employees are very committed to the Decos Technology Group.

New head office reflects Decos culture

The unusual culture of Decos is reflected perfectly in the new head office, currently undergoing construction on the Noordwijk SpaceBusinesspark. The business culture and vision of Decos inspired the architect Inbo to come up with an unusual design for the first genuinely digital office in the Netherlands. For example, he repeats the external shape of the building within the interior by keeping parts of the floor separate from the outer facade. The resulting voids create long lines of sight in an open office layout.

Decos is based on people, and according to Paul Veger this makes it very important for his employees to feel at home in the building or, as he calls it, in the inside world of the building: “People feel that Decos employees are enthusiastic and cheerful, mainly regarding their work as an ‘enjoyable pastime’. In my case too, I'm not an entrepreneur because it's work, but because it's fun! And this atmosphere is exactly what you find in the inside world.”
