Charities

Decos is glad to support a large number of charities. Our support focuses in particular on areas where not only is our help desperately required, but where there is also a clear link with us and what we stand for. For example, we support Ekalavya Nyasa, a children's home in Pune where the Indian Decos office is located. In addition, the Decos Technology Group supports the Regenboogboom (Rainbow Tree), a foundation which offers help to children – and their parents – with a life-threatening illness, traumatic experience or handicap. And through our regional network, we support Fontein Dorcas, which organizes projects to help poverty-stricken people in East Africa.

Ekalavya Nyasa is a shelter in Pune, India, for children whose parents are unable to look after them. As well as healthy meals and a roof over their heads, the institution also provides education, a place to play and play therapy. On the initiative of several Indian Decos employees, the Decos Technology Group donated a playroom and furniture for the music room and the dining room to the children's home.

The Regenboogboom Foundation teaches children facing illness, trauma or a handicap to independently develop an inner sense of security. This enables them to face their difficult circumstances with greater self-confidence and zest for living. The wife of Decos founder Paul Veger, is very closely involved with the Regenboogboom Foundation as a hospital volunteer.
On 12 February 2010, the fourth Fontein Dorcas Event took place, with contributions from the Decos Technology Group. This gala evening and auction was organized by the Dorcas Bulb and Dune Region Entrepreneurs foundation to support poverty-stricken people in East Africa, amongst other things by means of healthcare, agriculture and water projects.
