Ekalavya Nyasa
Ekalavya Nyasa is a shelter in Pune, India, for children whose parents are unable to look after them. Each day, the shelter houses 100 children between the ages of 3 and 16. As well as healthy meals and a roof over their heads, the institution also provides education, a place to play and play therapy.
On the initiative of several Indian Decos employees, in 2008 the Decos Technology Group donated a playroom to the children's home. Decos founder Paul Veger and his wife Willemien Veger-Frudiger handed over the donation in person to the children and volunteers of Ekalavya Nyasa. Since then, they have established a warm relationship with those at the children's home and Decos continues to take initiatives to support Ekalavya Nyasa.
In 2009, money was raised together with children from “De Wegwijzer” primary school in Rijnsburg, making it possible to furnish an attractive music room and dining room. During a festive meeting in March 2009, Mrs Veger-Frudiger handed over the check to the children.
Regular small-scale initiatives are also organized at the Decos head office in Noordwijk to raise money for the children's home.
